🟡 The Open Editions meta
If you are an acquaintance of the 1-of-1 NFT art scene, you have probably seen people talking about Open Editions (OE) non-stop. But what are these OE and why is everyone crazy about them?
An open edition is characterized by not having a set limit on the number of NFTs that can be minted. Typically, collectors are given a set time frame to mint, and when that time runs out, the number of NFTs in the collection is capped. This approach is designed to make the artwork as accessible to the masses as possible, allowing everyone to own a piece of their favorite artists, usually at a lower price.
On one hand, OEs are seen as a tool for artists to generate revenue and expand their community. For example, vector artist Jeremy Booth's OE serves as a subscription plan for collectors, providing access to his future body of work.
However, some in the community are cautious about OEs, particularly as a collector, as some mints have been trading below the initial mint price. The idea of open editions as a profit-chasing mechanism has been pointed out, with some collectors minting multiple OEs for future sales.
Illustrator Oxdgb then took things even further, launching an open edition on Manifold as a performance piece for 69 ETH, called Rejected Idea. Zero people minted the piece, which Oxdgb then minted as a 1-of-1 on Foundation. It ended up selling for 8.40 ETH
Others argue that OEs are neither good nor bad, simply a tool in the NFT ecosystem for artists and collectors to use as they please.
In conclusion, the open edition debate is ongoing and will continue to spark discussion and creative opportunities in the NFT community. Whether OEs are seen as a positive or negative aspect of the ecosystem is up to individual interpretation and usage.

🔵 Dynamic NFTs are coming to Twitter
Have you ever wished to have a unique, interactive, and changing PFP and banner on social media? What if I told you that now you can?
Okay, maybe you aren’t dreaming about this every night, but you can’t tell me it doesn’t sound like an interesting concept.
dNFT #817 is a game-changer in the world of social media and NFTs. It's the first-ever dynamic NFT (dNFT) synced with Twitter on Solana, opening up a world of endless possibilities for artists and creatives. With NYOP Canvas, you can draw anything you want and it will automatically update your dNFT, which will then show up as your PFP or banner on Twitter.
Wanna try it out? Check the thread below
🔵 The Grizzlython, Solana’s wildest hackathon, is here
The wait is over. Get ready to take on the challenge and build the next big thing in crypto with Grizzlython, an online global Solana hackathon. With $5 million in prizes and seed funding up for grabs, this is the perfect opportunity for developers, builders, and entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and turn their ideas into reality.
From February 2 to March 14, participants will have six weeks to bring their projects to life and compete for grand champion, specialty prizes, and awards in categories such as mobile, DeFi, payments, consumer, tools/infrastructure, gaming, and DAOs/network states. With support from industry leaders such as Solana Mobile, Monaco Protocol, Stripe, Brave, SolanaFM, AWS Cloud, HelloMoon, and SuperteamDAO, the possibilities are endless.

What’s going on with your favorite Solana projects?
🟢 What is enlightenment?
After DeGods started the NFT art upgrade meta, many projects gave a second thought to their art and decided to launch a new, improved version of their NFTs. Well, this isn’t what Cets on Creck are doing. Let me repeat it for the ones that were distracted, this is not an art upgrade.
Then, what is it?
It’s a new dimension for your cet. It’s how an alternative version of your cet would look in another universe. Instead of looking like this:
In another dimension, your cet looks like this:
I know the herpes attribute is not for everyone and people have been fuding it quite heavily on Crypto Twitter, but there are much cooler cets
And this is all inside the same NFT. You can actually browse Magic Eden and swipe between the two options (you can see how this works on the video shared above)
🟢 The Founder’s council
Have you ever wondered what the top NFT projects founder do in their spare time? Well, I don’t know what they do most of the time, but I do know that once a month they gather to discuss the most important topics in the ecosystem
Founders of top NFT projects such as Degen Ape Academy (DAA), Okay Bears, Lily’s, Claynosaurz, Elixir, Blocksmith Labs, MonkeDAO, Famous Fox Federation, Taiyo Robotics, or Portals come together to share their experiences and perspectives on the rapidly-evolving NFT landscape. These collaborative efforts hope to reach a consensus on controversial topics and provide access to connections, product design, development resources, marketing advice, and even art feedback.
The group aims to be inclusive and welcomes any project that has shown consistent benefit to the Solana ecosystem.
NickyScanz, Strategic Partnership Manager at DAA and one of the leaders behind the formation of the group, said that the most important goal is to grow the Solana ecosystem in the healthiest way possible and help push SOL to reach its full potential. With the lines of communication now fully open, the future is bright for Solana and its thriving NFT community.
🟢 The MonkeDAO collection
Considered the CryptoPunks of Solana, Solana Monkey Business (SMB) is one of the most iconic collections on this blockchain. They minted back in August 2021, when there wasn’t even a marketplace to buy and sell your NFTs.
Magic Eden didn’t exist. Let that sink in for a minute. Most of you never even saw the era when Solanart was the most important marketplace in Solana. This was even before that.
People were peer-2-peer (P2P) trading these cute pixelated monkey pictures through Discord and no one thought they would be worth more than $60k at some point.
SMB is currently the most active PFP on SOL (according to @FlipsideSolana) and has the highest concentration of developers and founders, including numerous hackathon winners
However, the original founders of the collections are not the ones running it anymore. MonkeDAO, the first NFT DAO on Solana, is actually the one pushing the project forward. They are currently in a battle for the ownership of the project, with the DAO trying to buyout the current owners, but that’s a story for another day.
The important thing now is that MonkeDAO is launching its own NFT collection.
Why launch a new collection though?
There are several reasons, like creating a more affordable entry to grow the MonkeDAO community, increasing the unique holders of the project, fundraising the DAO to run faster than ever before, and as a fun way to reward current holders and spread the monke brand.
The collection will likely be minted in two months from now, with a supply higher than 5000, greater detail for the PFPs, and bringing many new skins and attributes. The idea is that this new (Gen 3) collection will give access to the discord, but the older one will keep the voting rights
Since the release of the art, Crypto Twitter has shared both positive and negative feedback and some artists like Zen0, which is, in particular, a pixel artist, have also shared their thoughts on the art

🔴 Revenue sharing for Twitter
Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, just dropped a major announcement - verified Twitter Blue subscribers will now earn a slice of the ad revenue generated from ads in their reply threads
With this new policy, Twitter is trying to bring creators from other platforms like Youtube or Tik Tok to make content for Twitter and boost their earning potential.
The move is expected to have a significant impact on the platform and drive even more engagement and monetization.
